Dr. Sami Alfaraj 
Dr. Sami Alfaraj is head of the Kuwait Centre for Strategic Studies, which he established in 1997 as the first private consulting center on strategic issues in the Gulf region. He serves as an advisor to the GCC and is a consultant to the Kuwaiti government and to parliamentary organizations, private corporations, and government agencies throughout the Gulf region.

Mark Fitzpatrick 
Mark Fitzpatrick is the Director of the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Programme at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. Prior to joining IISS Fitzpatrick worked for the US Department of State, where he focused on non-proliferation issues. In his last posting, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Non-proliferation (acting), responsible for policies to address the proliferation problems posed by Iran, North Korea, Libya, Iraq, South Asia and other regions of concern. He is the author of "The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: Avoiding worst-case outcomes."

Román D. Ortiz
Román D. Ortiz is the Director of Decisive Point, a consulting company specializing in security and defense. He also is a professor at the Department of Economics at Universidad de Los Andes, Bogota, where he focuses on the analysis of political violence and terrorism phenomena in Latin America. Ortiz has worked as an external adviser on counternarcotics strategy and counterterrorism to the Colombian Navy Commander and the Commander in Chief of the Colombian Military Forces and has taught and researched topics related to political and criminal violence at Spanish academic institutions.

George K. Chaya
George K. Chaya is a Lebanese born writer, teacher and political analyst specializing in Middle Eastern and Latin America affairs, and the prevention of terrorism. He has published hundreds of articles and editorials on the Middle East in Latin America, Spain and the U.S. He is the author of "Global Jihad, Terrorism in the Twenty-First century, Approaches and Projections," (2010) a book written in Spanish and published in the U.S. in which he addresses the future of Latin American countries and the challenges of radical terrorism.

Dr. Bruno Tertrais 
Dr. Bruno Tertrais is a Senior Research Fellow at the FONDATION POUR LA RECHERCHE STRATEGIQUE (FRS). He formerly was Special Assistant to the Director of Strategic Affairs at the French Ministry of Defense. Dr. Tertrais graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (IEP) de Paris. He also holds a Master's degree in Public law and a DEA in Comparative Politics from the University of Paris, as well as a Doctorate in Political Science from the IEP Paris. His fields of expertise include international relations, strategic and military affairs, nuclear issues (proliferation, deterrence, disarmament), US strategy and transatlantic relations. Dr. Tertrais has published several books and studies on these questions.

Frédéric Encel
Frederic Encel is a Middle East expert and author. Encel earned a Ph.D. in Geo-policy at the University of Paris VII and teaches International Relations at the International Institute of Public Administration and at the Institute of Political Studies in Rennes. He is a prolific author and has published several books including: "The Art of War: Strategies and Battles" (2000); "Geopolitics of Israel" (2004) "Understanding the Middle-East: A Necessity for the Republic" (2006). He also works in the field of risk-analysis.

Claude Moniquet
Claude Moniquet is an expert on counter-terrorism and extremism and a specialist on Near and Middle East issues. He is the director of the European Strategic and Intelligence Center. Moniquet focuses on terror networks and their European connections. He has published several books and studies including: "The Faceless War" (2002); "Jihad. Secret History and European Networks" (2004); and "Jihad and Islamism in Belgium" (2005).

Dr. Matthias Küntzel
Matthias Küntzel is a teacher of political science at a technical college in Hamburg, Germany. He is an external research associate at the Vidal Sassoon International Centre for the Study of Antisemitism (SICSA) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the vice chair of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) – German section.
His essays and articles on Iran, German and European policies towards the Middle East/Iran, and Islamism have been translated into ten languages and published inter alia in : The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, The Weekly Standard, Telos, Policy Review, The Jerusalem Post, The Israel Journal of Foreign Affairs, Standard, Spiegel, Die Zeit, Die Welt and Internationale Politik. He also serves as a guest commentator on Germany’s main public radio station Deutschlandradio Kultur.

Dr. Victor Mizin
Dr. Victor Mizin is Vice-President of the Moscow based Center for Strategic Assessments, member of the Center for Political and Military Prognosis of the Russian Academy of Science IMEMO Institute, and the board of the Russian NGO Committee on Critical Technologies and Nonproliferation. Dr. Mizin formally served as a member of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he concentrated on arms control, non-proliferation and global security.

Emanuelle Vesely
Emanuelle Vesely is a communications associate from Paris, France. She earned her master’s degrees from Sciences-po Paris (France) and Columbia University in New York (USA). Prior to joining Réalité-EU, Emanuelle worked at Ernst & Young as a senior consultant in European projects (2009-2010). In 2008 – 2009, she worked for the United Nations Studies Program as a communications officer to Elizabeth Lindenmayer, Kofi Annan’s former chief of staff.

Kate Henriques
Kate Henriques is a communications associate from Copenhagen, Denmark. She holds an MA with an elective module in rhetoric from the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies. Prior to joining Réalité-EU, Kate worked as a research assistant and conference coordinator at the University Copenhagen, and contributed to various projects focusing on nationalism and religion in Europe and the Middle East.
